Explained variance for the 197 predicted microbiome-associated metabolites in the Swedish versus Israeli cohorts. Fifteen influential outliers (with biochemical names labeled) were identified using Cook’s distance (larger than three times the mean Cook’s distance) based on a linear regression model (raw two-sided P < 2.2 x 10 -16 ). The circle sizes are proportional to the explained variance according to diet in the Israel cohort.
