Total entropy production in the low-dimensional spaces of the deep autoencoders, with respect to the mean entropy production from all pairs of brain areas in the original space. The results are presented for latent spaces of five dimensions. The entropy production in the reduced space increases linearly with the non-equilibrium dynamics of pairs of brain regions in the original blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) space.
