Maximum projection images of whole-mount HCRin situfor two heat shock proteins in intact and physa-amputated animals at 12 hpa. Nine out of twelve polyps upregulated the expression of both genes at the physa after amputation, whereas upregulation was never observed in intact animals (each gene: intact,n= 12 polyps; 12 hpa,n= 12 polyps).
