Based on the growth dynamics in presence of 10 a.u. of K2 toxin across different protein-expression levels (varying levels of galactose) (seeFigures S2G–S2I), we define different K2 protection profiles for the peptides: wild-type level (+++), medium (++), or low (+) immunity, and loss of immunity (−). The first three (+++, ++, +) confer K2 protection similarly at high expression levels (≥1% galactose) but to a different degree at lower expression levels.
