Close-up view of laminin disintegration in the PS region of a disseminating posterior PS PASE. The pictures represent consecutive images of a partial z stack acquired at various depths as indicated, with the 0 μm section being more close to the gel bed side. Filled white arrowheads indicate intact, non-perforated extracellular laminin, open white arrowheads point at areas with pronounced laminin disintegration. The right panel shows a magnification of the marked region in the 0 μm section acquired at 1 μm intervals to visualize nucleus deformation upon cell emigration through small pores originating from local laminin disintegration (opposing arrowheads). Scale bars, 25 μm (left) and 10 μm (right).
