Serial dilution assay analyzing growth phenotypes of strains expressing Mps1 mutants where phosphorylation sites in the interaction interface are mutated to alanine or aspartate. Cells were spotted on YEPD, YEPD + 1 mM NAA, YEPD + 20 g/mL benomyl, and YEPD + 1 mM NAA + 20 g/mL benomyl. Mutation of cluster 2 to aspartate results in hypersensitivity to benomyl.
