Bacterial counts in the kidneys, bladder, and urine of untreated vs. treated mice. 8-week-old CBA/J mice were infected with 108CFU of the UTI89+TM RpoB S531L strain. One group of mice was sacrificed before the start of treatment (early controls) and a second group of mice was sacrificed at the end of antibiotic treatment (late controls). Mice were treated with ciprofloxacin 10 mg/kg. Bars represent mean ± SEM. Significance was determined using the Mann-Whitney test. Allpvalues are shown; statistically significantpvalues (<0.05) are in red. Data are pooled from two experiments,n= 3–5 mice per group per experiment.
