However, BES emissions decrease significantly over time, falling to 1.6 MMTCO2e in 2035 and 1.3 MMTCO2e in 2050 under BAU. Under the DEC50 scenario, BES emissions fall to 1.4 MMTCO2e in 2035 and 0.6 MMTCO2e in 2050, corresponding to reductions of 42% and 75%, respectively, below 2022 levels. Under the DEC35 scenario, CO2e emissions are projected to decrease significantly, indicating a 73% reduction by 2035 and a 75% reduction by 2050.
