Experimental design. Left: each session began with 30 min homecage LFP recordings from BLA and vHC electrodes to calculate vHC-BLA beta-coherence (black) and coherence variance (red). Mice were then immediately tested for anxiety-like behavior in the EZM. Right: each mouse was tested in 3 sessions with a 48 h inter-session interval. For each mouse, we used the beta-coherence variance and EZM open-arm time from 3 sessions to calculate Zscores. Regressing these Z-scored measurements (n = 27 sessions from 9 mice) revealed their co-variation within a mouse and across days.
