The silver market and the PV industrys role in it in 2012, 2022, and, hypothetically, 2032 if the transition away from silver was not accelerated and enough silver could be mined. In this hypothetical scenario, silver mining would have to increase by almost 80% compared with 2022 to accommodate the additional demand of the PV industry. Given the small growth in silver mining in the past years, such an expansion seems unlikely.
