The changes behind CO 2 emissions in the halfway group in the period 2010–2020. The drivers are population; GDP per capita; the share of primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry; energy intensity (energy use per unit GDP); the share of coal, oil and natural gas; and carbon intensity (CO 2 emissions per unit energy). The factors among groups are displayed in box plots that show the quartiles, medians, whiskers and outliers. The boxes span the IQR, with the upper and lower boundaries representing the 75th and 25th percentiles, respectively. The lines displayed inside boxes are median values across factors.
