Odds ratios (ORs) for incident type 2 diabetes across categories of body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC). The reference group (OR=1) is normal BMI (18.5 to <25 kg/m2) and normal WC (men: <94 cm; women: <80 cm). Estimates are adjusted for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education, smoking status, alcohol consumption, physical activity, family history of diabetes, and prevalent cardiovascular disease.
