From left to right: the structure of Anc5ΔLoop I; Bright field image of fungal hyphae; Fluorescence microscope image shows Alexa Fluor 488-labeled Anc5ΔLoop I binding to the surface of fungal hyphae. Each 50 μL of 2 μM Alexa Fluor 488-labeled proteins Anc4 + Loop II and Anc5ΔLoop I is mixed with T . longibrachiatum hyphae in 20 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.4 at 25 °C. Images were captured after washing excess of the labeled proteins. All scale bares are 100 μm. Experiments were performed three times independently with similar results.
