C6 interrupts HDAC5 homodimerization. HA- and FLAG-tagged HDAC5-N were co-expressed in HEK293T cells together with increasing amounts of HA-tagged C6 or C6 mutant F72R or F75R. HDAC1 was included as a negative control. FLAG-tagged proteins were purified and analyzed by immunoblotting with the indicated antibodies.
