Experimental protocol. HEK293F cells were transiently transfected with vectors encoding membrane IgM corresponding to patient or control antibodies. Fluorescent dextran molecules bearing an estimated 5-6 streptavidin molecules were mixed with biotinylated proteins (e.g., IgG), and binding to the transfected cells was analyzed by flow cytometry.
