We evaluated the tendency of coco and post-subunits that are soluble in the wild-type (E) to become insoluble and form punctae upon partner knockout (F) or overexpression (G). Example structures depict a coco pair Nat1/Ard1 and a post pair Asc1/Rps17b (PDB:6HD571and 7A1G72) along with corresponding images of yeast cells expressing the proteins fused to a green or red fluorescent protein (GFP/RFP); the punctae are highlighted by arrows.
