Microscopy from Scientific Research

Large-scale STM images indicate a significant interaction between Fe-TCNQ and Au(111), which is manifested by the different periodicity of the herringbone reconstruction of the Au(111). Here, the image shows two patches of different Fe-TCNQ orientations (as shown in the zoomed-in insets), and the green line profile indicates that the herringbone periodicity changes by more than 20% under the two patches.
