The main computational problems in social situations can be divided into learning stage and decision stage. In the learning stage, the reliability of social information should be learned (using any learning algorithm). In the decision stage, the learned reliability should be used to regulate the weight of the social information. In this study, the computational problem that the animals encountered during the task was to solve the decision stage as the animals were tested once they reached near optimal performance. Therefore, their task was to weigh each source of information according to its reliability and choose the more reliable information.
