The co-culture schemes. Activated blood or tonsillar CD4+ T cells were infected with either HIVNL4-3 or HIVBaL for three days. Virus-producing cells were then co-cultured at a 1:1 ratio with CFSE-labeled donor-matched unstimulated mononuclear cells from blood or tonsils for 4 to 6 h with the presence of indicated ARVs.
