Measurement of GFP/insulin ratio reveals a higher rate of cell death among Adar mutant cells compared with WT cells in diabetic AdarKO mice. GFP/insulin ratio in islets from AdarHET (n = 4), non-diabetic AdarKO (n = 4), and diabetic AdarKO (n = 3) mice 30–50 days after tamoxifen injection. Pancreatic sections (5 sections per mouse, 150 M apart) were immunostained for insulin and GFP. The surface area staining positive for each marker was measured using Image J software.
