IX PL spectra as a function of the applied vertical electric field E z , obtained by exciting the structure with a 50 nW laser power. The dashed line corresponds to the linear quantum-confined Stark effect of IXs. A region of higher intensity is observed at the vicinity of 1.38 eV, corresponding to the cavity mode energy (Fig. 1d ). We further show the field-dependent spectra in a waterfall plot in Supplementary Note 2 , comparing it with the half-cavity case to better highlight the behaviour of the IX peak when entering the cavity transparency dip.
