MD simulations were conducted with two, three, four, or five EP helices to study their preferred assembly state as a function of exposed hydrophobic surface area and root mean square deviation (rmsd). Simulations with two or three EPs coalesced to one basin with low rmsd, while those with four or five showed two dominant populations.
