Decay constants from fitting a biexponential function to directional autocorrelation curves from treadmilling trajectories. For intermediate concentrations, the best match is obtained by assuming a fast and slow decay constant ( n = 4, 4, 6, 8, 4, 4 and 5 for [FtsZ] = 0.625, 0.900, 1.25, 1.50, 2.0, 3.0 and 5.0 µM, respectively; Extended Data Fig. 1d ).
