Subset of low-BG baboons (2.9 mmol l –1 ) were given 5 IU kg –1 oral insulin as above. These baboons showed no change in BG post-treatment. Baboons with a high starting BG (4.9 mmol l –1 ) demonstrated a 10% reduction in their BG.
